New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Central District unit has filed a chargesheet under Sections 3 and 4 of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against three alleged members of the Iranian gang, including its suspected leader Nasir Hafiz Khan, also known as Irani or Sameer.

Central District DCP Rohit Rajbir Singh said the gang was allegedly involved in robbery, fraud and other serious criminal activities across Delhi and several other states, with the objective of making illegal financial gains. All three accused are currently in judicial custody.

How Did the Investigation Uncover the Alleged Network?

The organised crime network came under scrutiny during the investigation into a robbery case registered at DBG Road police station in 2025, involving approximately ₹18.84 lakh. Further investigation allegedly revealed the activities of the gang, following which a separate case under MCOCA was registered in June 2026.

The chargesheet names Nasir Hafiz Khan, Ali Chunna alias Raja and Akbar Ali alias Kabir. According to police records, Nasir has approximately 46 criminal cases registered against him, while Ali is named in 10 cases and Akbar in 22 cases.

Financial Transactions and Assets Examined

During the investigation, police examined bank accounts, UPI transactions, suspicious cash deposits, vehicle purchases, property documents and the alleged use of proceeds generated through criminal activities.

Vehicles, including a Mahindra Bolero and Hyundai Creta, were also examined as part of the financial investigation. Police further claimed to have found evidence suggesting that alleged gang members used fake identities.

Further Investigation Underway

The main chargesheet has been submitted before the Special MCOCA Court at Rouse Avenue in Delhi. All three accused remain in judicial custody.

Police said further investigation is continuing to identify other alleged associates and trace additional properties linked to the suspected criminal network.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of ACP Saurabh A. Narendra and DBG Road police station SHO Inspector Randhir Singh. The team included SI Harvinder Singh, Head Constables Suneet Kumar, Naveen and Ashwini, along with Woman Constable Tanisha.
