Actor Saiyami Kher has become part of Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming film Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan. The movie recently began filming in Kochi. Sharing her happiness about being part of the project, Saiyami said in a statement, “Walking onto the set of Haiwaan has been an emotional and beautiful moment. I still remember being that young girl in the theatre, watching Akshay sir redefine action and laughing endlessly at Saif sir’s comedy. Their films were such a big part of my childhood. At that time, I never thought I would get a chance to work with them on the same set.
Saiyami on working with Priyadarshan
Saiyami shared how surreal it feels to now stand next to stars she once admired on screen. “Sometimes I have to remind myself this is real. These are the same people I once watched as an audience, and today I am acting alongside them. And then there is Priyan sir. To me, he is not just a director; he is a storyteller who has created unforgettable films. His work is one of the reasons I fell in love with cinema. Now, being guided by him feels like life has come full circle. We have only just started shooting, but I am enjoying everything—the excitement, the nervousness, and the gratitude. My heart is full, and I feel lucky to be part of this film,” she added.
Akshay and Saif reunite after years
On Instagram, Akshay Kumar recently posted a behind-the-scenes video from the movie’s set. Wearing a T-shirt with the word “Saint” printed on it, he looked at Saif Ali Khan and joked, “I know this devil very well,” showing the playful bond they share while shooting. Along with the video, Akshay wrote, “Each of us has a little mischief in us. Some may look like saints, while some carry the ‘Haiwaan’ within. Today we begin filming #Haiwaan with my favourite captain, Priyadarshan sir. Thrilled to reunite with Saif after nearly 18 years. Let’s bring out the haiwaniyat! Akshay and Saif were last seen together in Vijay Krishna Acharya’s film Tashan, released in 2008, which also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan in an important role.
