Punjab News: Punjab Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) has taken a big decision to improve the transport facilities of the people. Chairman Dr. Ranjodh Singh Hadana said that soon 100 mini buses will be run in villages and cities, which will strengthen village-city connectivity and people will get better travel facilities.
On this occasion, GM Jatinderpal Singh Grewal, GM MP Singh, GM. Maninderpal Singh Sidhu, GM Praveen Kumar, GM Raman Kumar, GM Amanveer Tiwana, Traffic Manager cum GM Sita Ram, and GM Praveen Kumar were present.
These buses will connect cities to villages
Dr. Hadana said that mini buses are being brought especially for those areas where it is not possible for big buses to come and go or where it is not economically feasible to run big buses due to low number of passengers. These buses will play an important role in connecting villages to nearby cities and markets.
Dr. Hadana said that this entire minibus service will be equipped with modern facilities and special attention will be paid to the comfort and convenience of the passengers. He said that PRTC has always implemented new projects giving priority to the safety and convenience of passengers.
Emphasis on improving public transport
The officials were instructed to raise the level of the department by working in a systematic and professional manner. In particular, the cleanliness of the buses, punctuality, and the behavior of the staff should be satisfactory for the passengers. The level of public transport will improve. Chairman Dr. Hadana said that with the start of the new minibus service, the level of public transport in the villages will improve.
This will not only provide convenience to students, laborers, and people who travel daily but will also reduce traffic and pollution due to reduced dependence on private vehicles. He also said that PRTC will take more such steps in the future, which will make the government bus service more effective and people-centric. During this, people were appealed to use the government bus services as much as possible and become a part of the process of improvement by giving their suggestions to the department.
