New Delhi: Amid the Cockroach Janata Party’s protests in the national capital, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has shut around 16 metro stations in and around Delhi until further notice due to security concerns.
What did the DMRC say?
According to an update from the DMRC, these 16 stations will remain closed until further notice and trains will not stop there. However, for the convenience of passengers, the ability to change metro lines at three interchange stations has been kept open.
Passengers can change from one line to another at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations, but will not be allowed to exit or enter these stations.

The Delhi Metro announced the closure of 16 metro stations in a statement posted on X. Here is the list of 16 metro stations that will remain closed:

Will there be an interchange facility?
According to the DMRC, passenger traffic will be completely closed at these stations due to security reasons. However, interchange facilities will remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat metro stations.

What is the reason for closing metro stations?
In view of the demonstration by CJP in Delhi, security arrangements have been tightened in New Delhi and VVIP areas. CJP protesters continued their sit-in at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday as security was heightened in the central Delhi area.
