New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially unveiled the host cities and venues for the 2027 ODI World Cup. The tournament will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, bringing the marquee event back to the African continent after 24 years. The last time the ODI World Cup was held in Africa was in 2003, when South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya jointly hosted the competition.

Three grounds in Zimbabwe have hosted the World Cup. These include Harare Sports Club, Queens Sports Club of Bulawayo and Fale Mosi-Oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls. The matches will be played at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, Namibia.
Will the format of the World Cup also change this time?
ICC has also changed the format of the tournament this time. A total of 57 matches will be played, and the competition will be completed in three phases.
First of all, there will be a Super Series, in which the teams ranked 12th, 13th and 14th in the ICC rankings will clash with each other. Only one of these teams will make it to the main tournament.
After this, 12 teams will be divided into two groups. There will be six teams each in both the groups, and all the teams will play matches against the other teams in their group.

After the end of the group stage, the top three teams of both groups and the seventh-placed team will advance to the Super-7 stage. After this, the top four teams of the points table will play the semi-finals. The first-placed team will face the fourth-placed team, while the second- and third-placed teams will face each other in the second semi-final.
