Lucknow: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) announced on Monday that, in view of the Kanwar Yatra, many entry and exit gates of 17 Namo Bharat stations will remain closed from August 4 to 12. Parking facilities at these stations will also be limited. These temporary restrictions have been imposed as per administrative instructions. They aim to facilitate security and traffic management during the annual pilgrimage.
Which stations will be affected?
According to the information provided, these stations include Modipuram, Meerut North, MES Colony, Begumpul, Bhainsali, Meerut Central, Brahmpuri, Shatabdi Nagar, Rithani, Partapur, Meerut South, Modinagar North, Modinagar South, Muradnagar, Duhai, Guldhar, and Ghaziabad.
Gate number 2 will be closed at most stations. Gates 2 and 3 will be closed at Begumpul, while gates 3 and 4 will be closed at Duhai. Gates 3 and 5 will be closed at Ghaziabad station. Parking facilities will also not be available at the affected areas of these stations.
What did NCRTC appeal to the people?
The NCRTC has advised passengers to use the alternate entry and exit gates available at the respective stations to avail the Namo Bharat services. The corporation has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
NCRTC stated that, “Namo Bharat train services will continue to function in a normal way on the Sarai Kale Khan-Modipuram Corridor. The trains will function every eight minutes from 6 am to 10 pm on all days till August 14.”
