Lucknow: Political rhetoric has intensified after SP President Akhilesh Yadav’s taunt at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s announcement of giving government jobs to one lakh youth in the next six months in Uttar Pradesh. On Saturday, the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 818 selected candidates in Lucknow and said that the process of completing the target of one lakh appointments has started. He said that the process of giving appointment letters will continue. It is also said that on September 20, appointment letters will be given to about one thousand selected candidates.

Akhilesh Yadav had raised questions on the Chief Minister’s promise of giving government jobs to one lakh youth and said that if the code of conduct is imposed after January, then how will so many jobs be given. In which departments did 818 candidates get appointments?
A total of 818 selected candidates were given appointment letters on Saturday. These include 48 instructors of the Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, nine Assistant Statistical Officers of the Directorate of Industries and 357 X-ray technicians of Medical and Health Services. Selection has been made on 404 posts in AYUSH department. These include 361 posts of homeopathic pharmacists, four professors of homeopathy, five professors of Ayurveda, 22 readers and posts related to Unani medicine.
Which recruitments are mentioned in the target of one lakh jobs?
Yogi Adityanath said that till now the state government has given appointment letters to about nine and a half lakh youth in government departments. He told that the process of recruitment of about 36 thousand youth is going on in the police department and their medical is being done. He also informed about the completion of examinations for about 41 to 42 thousand posts related to Home Guard. Apart from this, it was said that the process of selection for thousands of posts will proceed in the coming months through Subordinate Services Selection Commission, Uttar Pradesh Education Selection Commission and Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.

The Chief Minister had said in Gorakhpur on September 16 that before the announcement of assembly elections, a target has been set to provide government jobs to one lakh more youth. Even in August, he had announced giving one lakh appointment letters within six months. At that time he had asked the commissions and recruitment boards to speed up the recruitment process.
