New Delhi: Amidst the increasing demand for SUVs in the Indian auto market, Honda is preparing to change its strategy. The company is planning to introduce several new SUVs for Indian customers in the coming years. These include an updated version of the existing Elevate, a new electric SUV and new vehicles in different segments. The company’s focus is on strengthening the SUV portfolio and reaching out to more customers.
What will change in Honda Elevate Facelift?
Honda’s existing SUV Elevate is expected to get an update soon. According to reports, the company can launch its facelift model on October 6. Changes can be seen in the front and rear bumpers in the exterior of the new model. There is a possibility of some new features being added in the cabin also.
The facelift Elevate is said to have features like ventilated seats, 360 degree camera and a new touchscreen system. Features like 10.25 inch infotainment system, 8 speaker audio, wireless charging and camera based ADAS of the current model may also continue. The possibility of major changes in the powertrain is currently said to be low.
Which will be Honda’s first electric SUV?
Honda is also preparing to increase its presence in the electric car segment in India. Information about the start of testing of the company’s new electric SUV has come to light. This could be a model based on a completely new design, in which a futuristic design with boxy shape will be seen.
According to reports, this electric SUV can be given a battery pack between 65 kWh to 75 kWh. Its possible real world range is said to be around 450 to 500 kilometers. However, the final information related to battery capacity and range will be clear only after the official announcement by the company.
When will Honda enter the small SUV segment?
Honda is also preparing to enter the sub-4 meter SUV segment. The company may introduce a new compact SUV by around 2028. Vehicles like Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO are already present in this segment. The new Honda SUV is expected to be developed keeping in mind the needs of the Indian market. At present, official information related to its name, engine and features has not been revealed. In such a situation, its technical information will become clear only when the launch comes closer.
What will be special in the SUV that competes with Creta?
Honda is also working on a new mid-size SUV, which could be a separate model from the existing Elevate. It is likely to compete with popular models like Hyundai Creta. Reports say that it will be brought to the Indian market around 2028.
