New Delhi: As the second fortnight of October begins, the weather patterns have started changing in many parts of the country. With increasing coldness in the morning and night in Delhi-NCR, the problem of air pollution is also increasing the concern. Strong winds along with thunderstorms may occur in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and some other states. On the other hand, the low-pressure area formed in the Arabian Sea is also under the monitoring of the Meteorological Department.

Why is the concern about pollution increasing with cold in Delhi-NCR?

With the weather becoming cold in Delhi-NCR, concerns about air quality have started increasing. Due to changes in weather and slow wind speed, pollutants can remain in the atmosphere for a long time. Its effect may be visible on air quality in the coming days.

According to Meteorological Department data, the minimum temperature recorded at Delhi’s Safdarjung weather center on Monday was 17.1 degrees Celsius, which was 1.3 degrees below normal. At the same time, the maximum temperature was 31.7 degrees Celsius.

How will the weather be in Delhi in the next few days?

At present, no major weather changes are expected in Delhi and surrounding areas. A slight coolness may be felt in the morning and night, while the feeling of warmth may persist due to sunlight during the day.

Air quality may deteriorate if wind speed is low and conditions are not favorable for the dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere. Therefore, it will be necessary to keep an eye on the pollution level of Delhi-NCR in the coming days.

In which states there is alert of rain and strong winds?

According to IMD, rain activities may intensify in many states of South India on October 20. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at some places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. At the same time, heavy rain has also been predicted in Kerala, Mahe and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Apart from this, Andaman and Nicobar Islands may also receive heavy rain at some places. There is a possibility of strong winds along with thunderstorms in some parts of Telangana and Karnataka.

Winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in Madhya Pradesh. At some places the speed of wind gusts is expected to reach 50 kilometers per hour. Thunderstorms along with strong winds may also be seen in central parts of Maharashtra and Konkan-Goa region.

What will be the effect of the low pressure area formed in the Arabian Sea?

A clear low pressure area remains over the south-west Arabian Sea. According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic circulation associated with it extends to a height of about 9.4 kilometers above sea level.

How will the weather be in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan?

At present, no major seasonal changes are expected in the states of North India. Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan may feel slight coolness in the morning and night. However, temperatures may remain relatively high during the day.
