New Delhi: Claims of brain hemorrhage, coma, and even death are circulating on social media regarding the health of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Amidst these claims, North Korean state media has released photos of Kim Jong Un, showing him examining shoes and women’s clothing at an exhibition. However, these photos have not been independently verified, and it is unclear when they were taken.

According to the New York Post, North Korea’s state news agency, the Korean Central News Agency, released these photos on Monday. According to the report, Kim visited the exhibition on Monday. In the photos, he is seen looking at children’s shoes, talking to officials, and examining clothing.

What is Kim Jong Un doing in the pictures?

In the released photos, Kim Jong Un is seen looking at various products on display. In one photo, he is seen leaning forward and examining a small pink shoe, which is being held by a woman wearing a light pink dress. In another photo, Kim is seen talking to officials, with his hands outstretched and his mouth open, as if explaining something to an official.

In another photo, Kim is seen looking at the sleeves of a brownish-red women’s coat hanging on a mannequin. He is accompanied by several officials. State media has shared information about Kim’s public activities through these images.

However, these photos cannot be used to draw any concrete conclusions about his health. There has been no independent confirmation of when the photos were taken. Therefore, it is also impossible to establish that they were taken after the claims made on social media.

What claims were made about Kim Jong Un’s health?

New speculation about Kim Jong Un’s health began after US-based Chinese leader Wanjun Ji, who is affiliated with China’s Democratic Party, made several claims on the social media platform X on Sunday.

He first claimed that Kim Jong Un had died and also claimed that China had sent 9,000 troops to Pyongyang amid fears of a power succession crisis in North Korea.

Ji then claimed that Kim had suffered a severe brain hemorrhage. According to him, a team of experts from the Peking Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing, China, had arrived in North Korea to treat Kim. However, no concrete evidence has emerged to support these claims. Therefore, they cannot be seen as confirmation of Kim Jong Un’s health or death.
