Iran Launches Retaliatory Strikes On Gulf Nations After Fresh US Assault

Tehran: Following the US attack on Iran, Tehran retaliated by launching a large-scale strike on American military bases in Gulf countries, further escalating tensions across the Middle East. Reports say that as the security threat level rose, Qatar’s Interior Ministry on Sunday sent an emergency security alert to citizens’ mobile phones across the country, including in Doha, urging people to remain indoors or stay in safe locations.

What did the Qatar government say?

Amidst this serious security crisis in the Gulf region, the Qatar government has appealed to the people to strictly follow the security instructions and not to go out without any urgent work.

According to reports, Qatar’s Interior Ministry has issued an official statement clarifying that the security threat level in the country is currently very high. The ministry has appealed to all citizens and expatriates to completely avoid any unnecessary movement. Everyone has been asked to remain in their homes or safe places only, to ensure safety from any aerial threats. The ministry said this step has been taken after eyewitnesses reported loud explosions in Doha and explosions in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan following Iran’s retaliatory strikes on US bases.

What did the UAE say?

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the loud explosions heard in UAE areas were indeed the result of actions to intercept Iranian ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

The UAE’s Defence Ministry said its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and offensive drones fired by Iran at various parts of the country.

According to reports, the Iranian military’s retaliatory attacks on US bases have also sent shockwaves through other major Gulf countries. In addition to the UAE and Qatar, large explosions were heard in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. Given the gravity of the situation, countries throughout the Gulf region are strengthening their security and preparing to counter airstrikes.
