Fatehabad: Fatehabad Police is continuing its special initiative, Operation Jeevan Jyoti, to help people struggling with drug addiction recover and return to a healthy, dignified life. Alongside action against drug-related offences, the campaign focuses on counselling, treatment support and rehabilitation to help affected individuals reconnect with society.
Counselling and Encouragement at the Civil Hospital
As part of the initiative, the police de-addiction team, led by Sub-Inspector Sunder Lal, visited the Civil Hospital in Fatehabad and met people undergoing treatment for substance addiction. Team members listened to their concerns with sensitivity and counselled them on the importance of continuing treatment, following medical advice and staying away from drugs.
The team also encouraged them to remain hopeful, explaining that recovery is possible with determination, appropriate medical care and support from family members.
Follow-Up Visits Across Fatehabad
The team subsequently visited various parts of Fatehabad city and followed up with 11 people undergoing treatment for drug addiction. It reviewed their treatment progress, provided counselling and supplied medicines as required.
Those receiving support were urged not to discontinue treatment midway, to develop a positive daily routine and to remain committed to their recovery.
Why Does the Campaign Focus on Continued Treatment?
Fatehabad Police believes that tackling drug addiction involves more than arresting traffickers. Supporting people affected by addiction through treatment, guidance and continued follow-up is equally important in helping them rebuild their lives.
The police emphasised that a compassionate approach and timely medical assistance can give people struggling with addiction an opportunity to begin again and move towards a healthier future.
Public Urged to Support People in Recovery
Fatehabad Police appealed to residents not to stigmatise or neglect people dealing with addiction, but instead to encourage them to seek professional treatment. The public was also urged to contribute to efforts to build a drug-free society.
Operation Jeevan Jyoti will continue with the aim of bringing hope to people affected by addiction and supporting the district’s wider efforts to combat drug abuse.
