During the event, Rekha Gupta interacted with the students and appreciated Delhi Police’s efforts to promote women’s security, confidence and empowerment. Their performance reflected the discipline and self-assurance developed through the training.
Joint Commissioner of Police, Central Range, Madhur Verma, and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police-I, North District, Pukhraj Kamal Gupta, also encouraged the participants. Police officials urged the students to take an active interest in self-defence training and remain alert about their personal safety.
Mission Shakti Reaches 16,520 Students
The initiative has recorded significant outreach across educational institutions in North Delhi. From January 1 to October 27, 2026, the North District Police Parivartan Team organised 92 self-defence training programmes in 59 schools and 12 colleges.
A total of 16,520 female students participated in these sessions during the period. The programme aims to equip young women with practical self-defence skills while building their confidence and encouraging them to face challenging circumstances without fear.
Police Initiative Focuses on Safety and Self-Reliance
The initiative has been carried forward under the leadership of North District Deputy Commissioner of Police Niharika Bhatt. Through structured training sessions and awareness programmes, Delhi Police seeks to help students become more conscious of their safety and better prepared to protect themselves.
The event at Daulat Ram College highlighted the importance of equipping young women with skills that promote independence, confidence and personal security. Mission Shakti continues to emphasise a broader message: women deserve safety and respect, alongside the opportunity to become self-reliant.
