New Delhi: A tragic road accident ruined the happiness of a family on Wednesday morning in Punjabi Bagh area of West Delhi. 22 year old Sonu, a motorcycle riding youth, died after being hit by a DTC bus. As soon as information about the accident was received, Punjabi Bagh police station reached the spot and started investigating the matter. West District DCP Hareshwar V Swami said that information about the road accident was received at Punjabi Bagh police station at around 7:23 am on Wednesday. The investigating officer who reached the spot came to know that a DTC bus had crushed the motorcyclist. The youth who lost his life in the accident was identified as Sonu, who was a resident of Indira Colony Punjabi Bagh.
Sonu lived in a slum with his family. His father Bharat works to slaughter chickens, while his mother is a housewife. There is also his 17-year-old younger brother Vikas in the family who works as a delivery person. The death of the young son has brought great sorrow to the family. The house where hopes for the future were growing is now shrouded in mourning.
Police are examining the footage of CCTV cameras
Police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby to identify and trace the DTC bus involved in the accident. Necessary action is being taken in the matter as per law. Investigation is ongoing to determine the identity of the bus driver and the circumstances of the accident. A little carelessness on the road can snatch someone’s life. Be careful, follow traffic rules and understand the value of others’ lives.
