New Delhi: Last year, Apple launched its first ultra-slim smartphone, the iPhone Air. Its biggest highlight was its extremely thin design, but this required some compromises on camera and battery life. Now, new information has emerged about its next model, the iPhone Air 2. According to a leak, Apple may make two major changes to the phone this time around. It is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup and a larger battery. The phone could be launched in 2027.

Media reports and tipster Digital Chat Station have shared potential features of the iPhone Air 2 on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. According to a report by Gizmochina, the new model could feature a larger battery and dual rear cameras. If this information proves to be accurate, it could address the camera and battery issues faced by the previous iPhone Air. According to the leak, the iPhone Air 2 could feature a 6.55-inch flat OLED screen. Its resolution will be 1.5K+, and the display could support a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate.
This could make scrolling and using the screen smoother than before. For performance, it’s expected to feature an A20-series chipset. This processor is likely to be built using 2nm technology. However, Apple hasn’t yet released any official details about the phone’s hardware.
The battery could be 11% larger
Good news has also emerged regarding the iPhone Air 2’s battery. According to a tipster, it could feature a 3,500mAh battery. The first-generation iPhone Air comes with a 3,149mAh battery. This means the new model’s battery could be around 11% larger. This is expected to improve the phone’s battery life. Previously, the same tipster had claimed a 3,500mAh battery based on information from the supply chain. Regarding the camera, the iPhone Air 2 could feature a 48-megapixel primary camera and a new ultra-wide camera. The first generation only had a single rear camera. Furthermore, the new model is also expected to feature Face ID.
When will the iPhone Air 2 be launched?
According to reports, Apple may introduce the iPhone Air 2 in the spring of 2027. It is likely to be launched alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. The first iPhone Air was launched in September last year. Its 256GB variant was priced at ₹119,900. The 512GB model was priced at ₹139,900, and the 1TB variant was priced at ₹159,900. Currently, no information has been revealed regarding the price of the iPhone Air 2.
