Ratia: A ‘Run for Unity’ event will be organised in Ratia on October 31 to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The initiative aims to promote national unity, integrity and brotherhood among people.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Surender Singh said school students, sportspersons, government employees, youth and local residents are expected to participate in the event.
He highlighted Patel’s historic contribution to strengthening India’s unity and integrity, adding that the programme would provide an opportunity to remember his ideals, vision and dedication to the nation.
What is the schedule and route of the event?
According to the administration, participants will gather at the Tehsil Office in Ratia at 6:30 am. The main guests will be welcomed and felicitated at 6:45 am, followed by the commencement of the run at 7 am.
The race will begin at the Tehsil Office and conclude at the Community Hall on Budhlada Road. Participants securing first, second and third positions will receive prizes.
SDM appeals for active public participation
SDM Surender Singh has appealed to residents, students, young people, sportspersons and social organisations across the Ratia region to participate enthusiastically and contribute to the success of the programme.
He said events like these help strengthen the values of unity, cooperation, discipline and collective participation in society while spreading the message of national integration.
