Afghanistan Cricket Board: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has leveled a serious allegation against Pakistan, stating that three local cricketers from Urgun district were killed in an attack by Pakistan. The board has solid evidence, including video of the attack, that refutes Pakistan’s claims. Following the incident, Afghanistan has announced its withdrawal from the Tri-Nation T20 series scheduled to be held in Pakistan next month.
The issue has become even more heated after the Pakistani government flatly denied reports of cricketers’ deaths in the attack. This controversy has created a new stir in the cricket world.
Pakistan accused of murder with video evidence
Speaking to the media, ACB spokesperson Syed Naseem Sadat categorically stated that they have video evidence of the attack, which has been seen worldwide. This proves that the attack was carried out by Pakistan. Sadat also stated that due to this incident, the board has officially decided to withdraw from the tri-nation T20 series being held in Pakistan.
Cricketers killed in Urgun attack
Last Friday, the ACB announced on the social media platform X that cricketers Kabir, Sibghatullah, and Haroon were martyred in the attack while returning from a friendly match in Sharana, Paktika province. Several others were also injured. The ACB described this as a severe blow to the Afghan sports community and cricket family.
Plea to keep cricket away from war
Syed Naseem Sadat appealed to all cricket boards around the world to strongly condemn such barbaric attacks. He said that cricket is a game that carries the message of peace. Cricketers are messengers of peace and should be kept away from war. We urge everyone to keep cricket away from the politics of war.
