Punjab: The Punjab government’s initiative, “CM the Yogashala”, is proving to be a milestone in the health and social welfare sector of the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, this initiative is not limited to just practicing yoga, but emphasizes on adopting it as a lifestyle. By June 2023, it had expanded to nine cities, with over 50,000 people enrolled. The third phase in January 2024 covered all urban areas with 1,500 trainers, and the fourth phase, started in March 2024, expanded to rural areas and blocks. Today, the scheme is implemented in 23 districts and 146 blocks of Punjab.

This initiative has empowered women and senior citizens, especially in rural areas. Yoga is also proving to be helpful in promoting mental strength and a drug-free life.
