National News: Amid nonstop discussions in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clarified that the state government does not intend to close any school. He said that the government’s goal is to provide modern and well-equipped integrated campuses to children, where they can get education from pre-primary to senior secondary in the same campus. This model will be based on the Atal Residential School Scheme, in which provision will be made for education with state-of-the-art facilities for workers and destitute children.
Calling the opposition’s allegations propaganda, CM Yogi said that the government is taking steps to improve the student-teacher ratio and enhance the quality of education. He directed the Education Minister to take senior leader Mata Prasad Pandey on a tour of Atal Residential School so that he can see this change closely. According to the CM, small schools are being integrated within a radius of 1 kilometer and converted into bigger and better campuses so that students can get all the resources in one place.
The level of education will be raised by the integrated campus
Chief Minister Yogi said that building an integrated campus in the state is the priority of the government. This will give students the opportunity to study all classes on the same campus. Atal Residential School is an example of this, where laborers and poor children are getting quality education as well as housing facilities.
Small Schools Merged, Better Facilities Ahead
The CM clarified that schools with less than 50 students and located within a radius of 1 kilometer are being integrated. Its purpose is to ensure quality of education and better use of resources. This will also keep the student-teacher ratio balanced, and children will get a better environment.
The student-teacher ratio will be better
The government has decided that one teacher will be provided for every 22 students. Wherever needed, new recruitments will be done through the commission. This will not only improve the quality of education but will also reduce the workload on teachers.
CM’s retort on the opposition’s allegations
CM Yogi said that integration of schools is not happening only in UP. This was done in Himachal, Karnataka, and other states too, but no one opposed it there. In UP, its objective is to provide high-level education and facilities to the children, not to close the schools.
