How much funding has been released and what is its purpose?

The Chief Minister ordered the immediate release of Rs 68.98 crore. This amount will be utilized for the procurement of modern, world-class medical machinery and for infrastructure development. The Chief Minister directed that all upgrade works must be completed within stipulated timelines and in a transparent manner. He made it clear that people should not be made to wait for years. A proper monitoring mechanism will be put in place, and quality will be ensured at every level. Public interest will remain the top priority of this project.

What is the larger vision behind this decision?

According to the Chief Minister, the government aims to make Punjab a leading hub for medical education and healthcare services.
