New Delhi. On Thursday, the Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets in the IPL 2026. Although RCB has been in formidable form this season, their batting faltered against Gujarat, leading to their defeat. Following this loss, Gujarat captain Shubman Gill took to social media to post a message trolling RCB.

RCB batted first in the match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Known for their explosive batting, the team was bundled out for a mere 155 runs in 19.2 overs. Gujarat chased down this target in 15.5 overs, losing six wickets in the process. Gill played a blistering innings of 43 runs off just 18 balls, studded with four fours and three sixes.

Gill Trolls RCB

After the match, Gill trolled RCB by making a pun on Jason Holder’s name. Jason Holder had taken the catch to dismiss RCB captain Rajat Patidar during the match. This catch sparked considerable controversy; RCB contended that Holder had grounded the ball while taking the catch. Replays appeared to suggest something similar, but the umpire ruled Patidar out based on the laws of the game.

Following the match, Gill posted on Instagram, taking a dig at RCB by referencing their tagline, “Play Bold.” Gill shared two photos: one featuring himself and Holder, and the other featuring himself and Virat Kohli. Sharing the images, Gill wrote, “Play Hold, Jason Holder. A ‘Bold’ performance by the team tonight.” A few days earlier, Gujarat had also defeated the Chennai Super Kings, and following that victory, they had similarly trolled Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Gill Praises the Team

After the match, Gill praised his team, stating that he was extremely pleased with their performance. He credited the bowlers for restricting RCB to a total of 155 runs. Speaking after the match, Gill said, “Restricting them to 160 (155) on a wicket like this is quite satisfying. Our bowlers did a fantastic job. I felt like I was batting in my zone. I felt that today was my day.”
