What did Rekha Gupta say about the flood level in Delhi?

On the other hand, regarding the flood in Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta said on Tuesday that there is no flood-like situation in the city and the water level of the Yamuna will decrease in a day or two. Gupta visited the low-lying areas around Yamuna Bazaar, where water has entered the houses. She talked to the residents while passing through the submerged roads. The Chief Minister told reporters, “We requested them (residents) to go to schools, where relief camps have been set up and food and medical aid have been arranged. They said that there is no electricity. Therefore, we have arranged for solar-powered ‘floodlights’ so that there is no problem at night.”

How much did the water level of Yamuna reach?

Let us tell you that the water level of the Yamuna River at Delhi’s old railway bridge reached 205.79 meters at 8 am on Tuesday, which is slightly less than the ‘withdrawal’ level of 206 meters. The water level of the river had reached 205.55 meters on Monday afternoon, which crossed the danger mark of 205.33 meters, and since then the water level has been increasing. Gupta said, “The water is flowing forward and has not stopped. The water level has increased but will decrease in a day or two. There is no flood-like situation in the national capital.” After the water level of the Yamuna crossed the danger mark on Monday, Gupta had assured that there will be no widespread flooding in the national capital; it is a safe area, and any kind of waterlogging will be limited to the flood plains.
