Railway Recruitment Update: Group D Results And Zone-Wise Cut-Off Declared

New Delhi: There is big news for the youth who are dreaming of a job in the railways. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the results of the Group D Recruitment Exam CEN 08/2024. Along with this, the cutoff for all the zones has also come. About 1.08 crore people had filled the form for this recruitment. Now the passed candidates will go to the next round i.e., Physical Efficiency Test PET.

Where and how to check the result?

RRB has posted the result on every regional website.

  • You go to the RRB website of your zone.
  • You can see the scorecard by entering the registration number and date of birth there.
  • The list of shortlisted candidates is also in PDF. You can check your roll number in it.
  • The cutoff of each zone is also given separately on the website.

Why is the cutoff different for each zone?

This time, Railways has also declared different cutoffs for all zones. According to recruitment experts, the cutoff depends on several factors, including the number of vacancies in the respective zone, difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates, and various reservation categories. This is the reason why different cutoffs are being seen in Patna, Ajmer, Prayagraj, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and other zones. Candidates are advised to consider only the official cutoff of their regional RRB as final.

Now what will be the next step in the selection process?

Candidates declared successful in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) will now be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Document verification and medical examination will be conducted for the candidates who are successful in PET. The final merit list of the candidates who are successful in all these stages will be released, and after that the appointment process will be completed. Railways has clarified that mere success in CBT does not guarantee final selection.

How many posts will be filled through this recruitment?

Under the RRB Group D recruitment drive, recruitment will be done on 32,438 Level-1 posts in Indian Railways. These include many technical and operational posts, including Track Maintainer, Pointsman, Assistant Loco Shed, Assistant Operation and Assistant TL&AC. This is considered to be one of the biggest recruitment processes of railways in recent years, for which crores of youth from across the country had applied.

What should candidates keep in mind going forward?

  • Visit only the official website: All information regarding PET date, admit card, and document verification will be available only on the website of your RRB.
  • Keep documents ready: Keep all the documents like 10th mark sheet, caste certificate, and photo ID ready now.
  • Avoid fake news: Do not trust viral messages or fake websites on social media. RRB does not send any information on WhatsApp.
