
Chandigarh: Two shooters of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, allegedly involved in the murder of a gym owner in Haryana’s Hansi last month, were killed in a police encounter in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh.
What did the police say?
Police said that on the basis of secret information, when the police team tried to stop the two accused late Saturday night in Bahadurgarh, they started firing at the police.
He said that both the shooters were injured in the police’s retaliatory action and were immediately taken to the hospital where doctors declared them dead.
What is the case?
A gym operator named Kapil was shot dead by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in Hansi on June 11.
According to police, Kapil was training a group of six to seven people during an outdoor exercise session when the incident occurred. CCTV video of the incident went viral on social media.
Police investigations revealed that the incident was carried out by shooters Pravesh and Himanshu, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A bounty of Rs 1 lakh each was announced on both of them.
Where did the encounter happen?
The Special Task Force of the Bahadurgarh unit of Haryana Police had received secret information about both the shooters from the Counter-Intelligence Special Cell of Delhi Police.
Police said that when police, acting on information, tried to surround and stop the two men, they opened fire on the police team, and a constable was shot in the leg. The injured constable has been hospitalized and is undergoing treatment.
Both the shooters injured in the encounter were immediately taken to Bahadurgarh hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
According to the police, Pravesh was from Tibba Danasher village in Hisar district while Himanshu was from Jakhod Kheda village in Hisar district.
