Why did Akanksha reveal her sexuality on national television?
As in previous episodes, her co-contestant Shreya Kalra revealed her sexuality, with Sufi Motiwala discussing it in front of the camera. Later, host Riteish Deshmukh told Akanksha about the revelation made by Shreya to take revenge. The truth shocked Akanksha, and she broke down in tears.
How did Akanksha react?
After her secret came out, she gracefully accepted it and admitted that she has been in relationships with several women before marriage and was attracted to them. During the conversation with the host, she stated, “I was bisexual before marriage.”
After confronting the fact, Akanksha also told Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh about how she is feeling betrayed and that Shreya ruined her lifeline. Akanksha was also shown the video of Shreya and Sufi’s conversation.
When Akanksha was asked to tell the whole story, she said, “Before marriage, I was bisexual. I’ve had relationships with a few girls. Not very intimate relationships, but I’ve definitely been in relationships with a few. That’s it, I mean, I like girls. I’m attracted to them. I feel safe with them. They’re my safe space.” She also mentioned, “When she was growing up, she felt comfortable with her mother and sister. Then, she slowly realized that this society is male-dominated. But for her, all women are beautiful. Even though society may label her bisexual, for her, it’s pure love”
How did the host Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan react?
Riteish reacted in a very positive way and praised Akanksha’s courage, stating, “Because we live in a society, judgments are passed, there are judges, but coming here and expressing this, I want to give you more courage. That’s all I can say.” On the other hand, Farah Khan got emotional after seeing Akanksha breaking down.
