Tension gripped Manjour village in Nawada district after a violent clash broke out in the Mahadalit Tola over supremacy. The incident, which started late Wednesday night and escalated on Thursday morning, led to vandalism of several vehicles and firing in the air. According to local resident Vinod Chaudhary, he was returning home after closing his shop when a group of armed youths allegedly assaulted him at gunpoint and snatched money. On resisting, he was beaten up, which triggered unrest in the locality.

Vehicles of Villagers Damaged

On Thursday, miscreants reportedly vandalized several vehicles, including:

The car of the village Sarpanch

The vehicle of a Navy soldier

The car of a fire department soldier

Several other vehicles belonging to villagers

Eyewitnesses claimed that at least three rounds of gunfire were heard during the chaos, and videos of the incident have surfaced on social media.

Villagers Accuse “Local Bullies”

Members of the Mahadalit community alleged that they are being repeatedly targeted by certain influential people of the village. They claimed that harassment and violence against them have been continuing for the past several days.

Following the fresh incident, angry villagers blocked the road, demanding strict police action. The blockade was lifted only after DSP Rakesh Kumar Bhaskar and police station in-charge Rupesh Kumar Sinha reached the spot and assured action against the culprits.

Heavy Police Deployment in the Area

In view of the escalating tension, additional police forces have been deployed in the village. DSP Bhaskar confirmed that firing did take place during the incident. He said, “The matter is under investigation. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty.”

Efforts were made by police to speak with the other faction involved in the clash, but no one came forward for a statement. The situation in the village remains tense but under control due to the heavy police presence. Authorities are continuing their probe to identify and nab those involved in the violence.
