Washington: Amidst the ongoing diplomatic efforts between America and Iran, US President Donald Trump has given a strong statement regarding Iran. He said that America has only two ways, either there will be an agreement with Tehran or America will “complete its work”. Trump claimed that if necessary, America has the capability to completely destroy Iran’s critical infrastructure in a matter of hours.
What did Trump say in the Oval Office?
While talking to reporters in the Oval Office of the White House, Trump said that America will reach its goal under any circumstances. He said, “We will win in any situation. Either there will be a compromise or we will complete our work.”
However, Trump also said that his first choice is not to take military action but to find a solution through dialogue. They said that they do not want to harm millions of ordinary Iranian citizens.

Trump said that if America wants, it can disable Iran’s bridges, energy networks and power generation centres in a very short time. According to him, America has such military capability that Iran’s major power plants can be targeted within a few hours. He also claimed that Iran’s economic situation is not as strong as before.
Why was no agreement reached despite talks?
Indirect talks took place between America and Iran last week. The talks took place during a 60-day ceasefire aimed at reducing tensions and moving towards a permanent solution. However, no official information about any major agreement or concrete progress was revealed after the talks.

Trump has also said earlier that if America wanted, it could have targeted Iran’s top leadership in a single action. He had also said that this was not done because it was important to keep the lines of communication open for future talks.
How did Iran respond?
Iran has reacted sharply to Trump’s statement. The Iranian Embassy in Armenia posted on the social media platform X that the US can never understand what importance their supreme leader means to the people of Iran. The embassy said that a person can be killed, but his ideas and ideals cannot be destroyed.
Iran also said that even after the death of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his ideas and influence will remain among the people as before.
