In Bihar, a new political storm has erupted after strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor accused minister Ashok Choudhary of buying land worth over ₹200 crore in just two years. Kishor made these charges during a press conference that grabbed attention across the state. The claim shook Nitish Kumar’s ruling party, JD(U), where Choudhary holds the Rural Works ministry. Opposition voices immediately demanded clarity and evidence, making the issue hotter in Bihar’s political theatre.
Minister Demands Apology Or Proof
In response, Ashok Choudhary has taken a tough stand. Through his lawyer Kumar Anjaneya Shanu, he has issued a legal notice to Kishor. The notice asks Kishor either to present solid proof backing his allegations or to issue a written and spoken apology in public. If Kishor refuses, Choudhary has threatened to file a defamation suit seeking damages worth ₹100 crore. This confrontation is fast turning into one of Bihar’s most talked-about political controversies.
Kishor’s Harsh Remarks On Corruption
While addressing the media, Prashant Kishor didn’t stop at land allegations. He directly attacked Bihar’s saffron camp, saying its leaders are more corrupt than RJD chief Lalu Prasad. He added that RJD is out of power because of its own wrongdoings, but JD(U) leaders are no cleaner. These comments made the political atmosphere even more tense. Many believe Kishor is positioning himself as a whistleblower, though critics accuse him of exaggeration.
Reputation Battle Takes Centre Stage
Choudhary claims his personal and political image has been badly damaged by Kishor’s statements. His notice states that Kishor has caused “serious injury” to his reputation. If a suitable reply is not given within a week, Choudhary will approach the court with a defamation case demanding huge compensation. Political experts say such a lawsuit can stretch for years, but even the threat itself carries weight in Bihar’s charged atmosphere.
Kishor Questions D-Litt Degree Of Deputy CM
Prashant Kishor has also widened his attack beyond Ashok Choudhary. He questioned how Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary claimed a D-Litt degree from California University without even passing class 10 exams. Kishor alleged that Samrat was once accused in a 1998 murder case but escaped due to being a minor. By raising such questions, Kishor is painting Bihar leaders as dishonest, pushing his Jan Suraaj Party agenda hard before elections.
