New Delhi: A case of espionage has surfaced in Phulwari Sharif, Patna—one so audacious that it would make even ‘James Bond’ blush. A suspicious husband secretly fitted a GPS tracker inside his wife’s slipper… and just like that, technology did its job; the husband stormed the house and caught his wife red-handed with her lover. The ensuing drama was so intense that it kept the entire neighborhood awake.

In Phulwari Sharif, a locality within Bihar’s capital, Patna, “smart espionage” has become the talk of the town these days. The incident took place in Ekta Nagar, where a husband harbored some “doubts” regarding his wife’s conduct. But how to gather proof? Well, the gentleman turned straight to technology. He stealthily installed a tiny GPS device inside his wife’s slipper so that her every move would be visible live on his mobile phone.

It was a Saturday; the husband left for work, but his attention remained glued to his mobile screen. Suddenly, the location appeared suspicious to him. The location itself was the house, but the timing and movements sounded alarm bells. Without a second thought, the husband turned right back from his office and headed straight home.

How was the secret exposed?

The moment the husband opened the door to his home, the ground seemed to slip from beneath his feet. Inside, his wife was present with her “special friend”—her lover. Caught red-handed, the ensuing uproar was so massive that the entire neighborhood gathered at the scene.

The husband’s temper flared to such an extent that allegations arose that he had even snatched away the lover’s pistol and gold chain. Witnessing the escalating commotion, someone dialed the police. Amidst the chaos, a scuffle broke out, and the matter was taken straight to the police station. The high-voltage drama continued for hours even at the police station. People were left astounded, wondering how anyone could come up with such a “dangerous” idea as planting a GPS device inside a wife’s slipper.

How was the Dispute Resolved?

Phulwari Sharif Station House Officer, Mohammad Shahbaz Alam, stated that while the ‘112’ response team had brought everyone to the police station, no one filed a written complaint. Ultimately, a ‘compromise’ was reached between the husband, the wife, and the lover, and everyone went their separate ways without any legal action being taken. Although the matter was settled at the police station, people across Patna are now recounting the tale of this ‘slipper-GPS’ with great amusement. Indeed, when suspicion goes digital, the outcome is often exactly like this.
