Muzaffarnagar: In an initiative under Mission Shakti aimed at empowering women and girls, building confidence and nurturing leadership skills, Avika Tyagi, a Class 5 student of Holy Angels Convent School, was given the opportunity to serve as Deputy Commissioner of Industries for a day at the District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre in Muzaffarnagar.

Young Student Learns About Government Schemes

During her one-day assignment, Avika interacted with departmental officers and employees and gathered detailed information about various government schemes implemented by the department.

Officials explained the objectives of these schemes, eligibility requirements, application procedures and the benefits available to eligible beneficiaries. The interaction provided her with an opportunity to understand how government initiatives are designed and implemented to support people.

Office Visit Offers First-Hand Administrative Experience

Following the briefing, Avika inspected the office and learned about the responsibilities and work carried out at different departmental desks.

The visit gave the young student first-hand exposure to administrative procedures, office management and the implementation of government schemes. The experience was intended to familiarise her with the functioning of a government department and encourage her to explore leadership opportunities in the future.

Mission Shakti Promotes Confidence and Leadership

The initiative forms part of Mission Shakti, which focuses on women’s and girls’ empowerment. By giving a schoolgirl an opportunity to experience an administrative leadership role, the programme seeks to strengthen her confidence, decision-making abilities and leadership skills.

The initiative also aims to inspire girls to pursue their ambitions and participate confidently in different professional and public service fields.
