Nitish Kumar Has Grown Old, Bihar Needs Speedy Growth: Tejashwi Yadav

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav sharply criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the ‘Karpuri Ati Pichhda Adhikar Samvad’ on Saturday. He said Kumar is now too old to run the state and unable to ensure quick growth for Bihar.

NDA Accused of Using Backward Classes

During his speech, Yadav alleged that the NDA had only treated the extremely backward communities as a vote bank. He promised that if his party came to power, these groups would not just be voters but would become a “power bank.” He said, “Nitish Kumar can no longer run Bihar. He has grown old. Bihar needs fast progress… We must build a new Bihar. The NDA people have cheated the extremely backward groups. They only treated them as a vote bank… When our government is formed, the extremely backward will not be just a vote bank but will become a power bank.”

Promise of Mai Bahin Maan Yojana

On Thursday, the former Deputy CM had announced that if his party wins, it will start the “Mai Bahin Maan Yojana” across Bihar, saying that “change is certain” in the upcoming elections. Talking to reporters, Yadav said, “The Maa Yojana will be started, the Beti Yojana will be started, and the Mai Bahin Maan Yojana will be started. Many women from every block and panchayat in Bihar have gathered, which shows a strong wish for change. This time everyone wants change, and change will happen.”

The Mai Bahin Maan Yojana is a promise by the RJD and Congress in Bihar. It offers Rs 2,500 per month to women from poor and backward communities if the coalition wins the 2025 Assembly elections.

Attack on NDA Government

Earlier, Yadav had called the ruling NDA a “copycat” government without any vision. Speaking at the launch of the “Ati Pichda Nyay Sankalp” programme in Patna, he warned that the present government might copy policies first announced by his party.
