Darbhanga: In a shocking discovery on Friday morning, the body of an 18-year-old youth was found hanging inside a classroom of a government primary school near the Imli Ghat Bridge in Darbhanga. Police and local residents were alerted after the body was spotted in the room on the first floor of the school building.
The deceased has been identified as Bharat Mandal, also known as Himanshu, a resident of Gullu Bara. His body was taken down and sent for post-mortem to Dhanvantari Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) for further examination.
Officials noted visible injury marks on the body, leading to suspicion around the circumstances of his death. While the exact cause is yet to be determined, local residents and some family members have raised concerns of foul play and possible murder.
Bharat’s brother-in-law claimed he was last seen with friends on Thursday evening and did not return home. His family and locals suggested he might have been killed elsewhere and the body placed in the classroom, though police have not confirmed this theory.
Police have sealed the scene and called in a forensic team to collect samples and investigate all angles. Authorities said they will wait for the post-mortem report and forensic findings before determining the exact cause of death.
