Deepika Padukone dropped out of 'Kalki 2898 AD' sequel, production house explains the reason

Deepika Padukone, who played the role of Sum-80 in Nag Ashwin’s much-awaited film “Kalki 2898 AD,” will no longer be a part of its sequel. This sudden decision has shocked her fans. The film’s producers, Vyjayanthi Movies, issued an official statement informing them of the actress’s exit from the film. The second part of the film is expected to go on floors later this year.

What clarification did the production house give?

Vyjayanthi Movies said in a statement, “We worked with Deepika Padukone for a long time on the first part of ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ but unfortunately, we are not with her for the second part.   A film like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ requires commitment. We wish Deepika all the best for her future projects.”

I had left a big film earlier too.

This isn’t the first time Deepika Padukone has stepped away from a major project. Earlier this year, she also opted out of a film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Sources say Deepika demanded an eight-hour shooting schedule for the film, and she ultimately withdrew after disagreements with the director led to her decision to leave the project.

Who will be SUM-80 now?

Following Deepika’s exit, the biggest question is who will be cast as Sum-80. There are strong rumors in the film industry that the makers may approach another actress for this crucial role. However, no official word has yet been released on this matter.

The second part of ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’

The first part of “Kalki 2898 A.D.” was a huge box office hit, impressing audiences with its graphics, star cast, and unique story. Anticipation for the sequel is already building, and Deepika’s exit is being considered a significant change for the film.
