Delhi Traffic Alert: Major Jam Likely Tomorrow, Routes to Change at 30 Key Junctions From 6 AM

New Delhi: In view of the proposed protest on October 10 in the capital Delhi, there is a possibility that the traffic system on the roads will be affected. In view of the law and order situation, Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for drivers. Depending on the situation, traffic routes at many major intersections and routes may be changed from 6 am on Saturday. People going towards New Delhi and Central Delhi have been advised to take special precautions.

Be careful before venturing out on the roads of Delhi, as routes may change on many major routes tomorrow. Passengers going towards railway stations, interstate bus stands and airports have been advised to leave their homes with extra time. According to the police, traffic restrictions will be imposed based on assessment of the situation and security arrangements at the spot. When the situation becomes normal, the restrictions can also be relaxed.

Special attention will be kept on 30 major intersections and routes

According to the advisory issued by Delhi Traffic Police, traffic may be affected at many places including Shankar Road-Vande Mataram T-Point road towards New Delhi, Dhaula Kuan flyover, Jhandewalan roundabout, Panchkuian roundabout and Mandi House.

Apart from this, drivers also need to be cautious around Dr. Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk, Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk, Minto Road-Deendayal Upadhyay Marg, Guru Nanak Chowk, Chelmsford Road-Rajiv Chowk Outer Circle T-Point and Bhairon Road-Mathura Road roundabout.

Traffic situation may also be affected at Lodhi Road flyover, Neela Gumbad roundabout, Madrasa T-Point, Samrat Hotel roundabout, Sardar Patel Marg-Panchsheel Marg intersection, below Bhikaji Cama Place and below Moti Bagh flyover.

Police will also keep special vigil on Ring Road-San Martin Marg T-Point, Ashok Road-Jantar Mantar Marg Roundabout, Windsor Place Roundabout, Tolstoy Marg-Janpath Roundabout, Rail Bhawan Roundabout, Jai Singh Road-Sansad Marg Roundabout and Rajiv Chowk-Barkhambha Road T-Point.

Along with this, changes in traffic can also be made around Gol Post Office Roundabout, Patel Chowk Roundabout, Jai Singh Road-Ashok Road T-Point, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital Roundabout and Rajiv Chowk-Sansad Marg T-Point.

Passengers going to railway station and airport should be alert

Delhi Traffic Police has appealed to the people to avoid unnecessary travel and plan their journey before leaving for essential work. Passengers reaching railway stations, interstate bus stands or airports via New Delhi and Central Delhi should allow extra time so that their journey is not affected due to possible jams or diversions.

The police has also clarified that decisions regarding traffic arrangements will be taken according to the circumstances of the spot. Therefore, drivers should follow the instructions of the traffic police and avoid going on restricted routes.

Special message for Delhiites

Before leaving home on Saturday, decide on an alternative route to reach your destination. Keep an eye on the instructions of the traffic police and where diversion is in force, use the route indicated by the policemen only.
