On Thursday evening, the historic Dron Sagar Lake in Kashipur came alive with the sparkling lights of thousands of lamps. The occasion was a grand festival of lights organized by Hindu Rashtra Shakti, where 31,000 lamps lit up the entire premises. As the lake glimmered with the glow of lamps, the atmosphere was filled with devotion, faith, and festive spirit.
Spiritual Significance Highlighted
The chief guest of the event was Mahamandaleshwar Swami Dharmadev Ji Maharaj from Patodi Hari Mandir, Haryana. Before the lamp lighting ceremony, he said in his discourse, “Lighting a lamp is not just a tradition; it symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and the purification of the inner self.” During the event, Mayor Deepak Bali remarked that the efforts of the city’s residents have brought back the golden era of this historic site. “The beauty of this place is now a sight to behold. Under the leadership of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, continuous efforts are being made to restore sites connected to our Sanatan Dharma,” he added.
Cultural Festivities and Local Art
The celebrations began at 4 PM with a Diwali fair, featuring stalls with food, handicrafts, and traditional products. No fees were charged for any stall, allowing devotees and visitors to purchase beautiful items at affordable prices. Following the fair, local artists mesmerized the audience with folk dances, songs, and devotional performances. National head Sanjay Bhatia and district president Gaurav Gupta of Hindu Rashtra Shakti explained that the festival aims to unite Indian culture and tradition. They added, “This festival of lights is not just a celebration; it is a symbol of devotion and unity dedicated to Lord Shri Ram.”
Devotion and Community Participation
During the event, rows of lamps lit up the steps of Dron Sagar, temple premises, and lakeside paths, bathing every corner in golden light. Devotees expressed their faith by lighting lamps amid chants of “Jai Shri Ram.” Distinguished citizens, representatives of social organizations, and a large number of women and youth attended the event. Hundreds of volunteers played a key role in making the festival successful. Prominent attendees included Rahul Paigia, Rajiv Ghai, Pankaj Tandon, Dr. S.P. Gupta, Yogesh Jindal, Pawan Agrawal, and Devendra Agrawal.
