The situation in Punjab was difficult after the floods but the Bhagwant Mann government did not delay in handling the situation. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has proved that the real leadership is the one who takes the challenge as a responsibility and enters the field. It is our duty to stand with the soil of Punjab, every village, every street and every house.
The Health Department’s report of September 15 shows that the government has not only set an example of relief but also of trust. The special health campaign launched in 2303 villages has given a new hope to the entire state. So far, health camps have been organized in 2016 villages, where 51,612 people were checked for health and given treatment and medicines on the spot.
The government is with everyone – CM Mann
The government says that after the floods, people were helpless but now with the relief they are also feeling that the government is for them and with them. The biggest thing in this entire campaign is that the government itself is reaching out to the people. By going door to door in 1,929 villages, ASHA workers have so far checked the health of 1,32,322 families and medicines and medical kits have been given to the needy.
These include ORS, paracetamol, Dettol, band-aids, creams and other essential medicines. People themselves are saying that this is the first time that the government is knocking on their doors without an invitation.
Along with health, the fast work done for cleanliness and disease prevention has also become the new face of Punjab’s administrative style. So far, mosquito breeding places have been checked in 1,861 villages, in which 1,08,770 houses have been checked and immediate action has been taken on finding larvae in 2,163 houses and larvicide has been sprayed in 23,630 houses.
