New Delhi: The third day of the Lav Kush Ramlila at the Red Fort grounds witnessed a magnificent blend of devotion, faith, valor, and excitement. As the grand enactment of Lord Ram breaking the Shiva *Dhanush* (bow) and Mother Sita’s *Swayamvar* unfolded, the entire ground resonated with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Siyavar Ramchandra Ki Jai.” Amidst a shower of flowers, the resounding beats of drums, colorful lights, and the applause of the audience, the scene of Ram and Sita’s union became the highlight of the event. A large number of devotees gathered at the venue to witness this divine episode.

Arjun Kumar, President of the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee, stated that during the *Swayamvar*, mighty kings from various lands attempted to lift and string Lord Shiva’s massive bow but failed. Disheartened by their failure, a distressed King Janak wondered aloud if the earth had been depleted of brave warriors. It was then that, upon receiving Guru Vishwamitra’s command, Lord Ram stepped forward. He effortlessly lifted the Shiva *Dhanush*, and the moment he strung it, the bow snapped. The entire venue erupted in cheers. Mother Sita chose Ram as her consort by placing the *Varmala* (wedding garland) around his neck. The stage décor and impressive sound system made the scene even more memorable.

Parashuram-Lakshman Dialogue Heightens the Excitement

Hearing the sound of the Shiva *Dhanush* breaking, Lord Parashuram arrived at King Janak’s court. An intense exchange of words took place between Parashuram—enraged by the breaking of the bow—and Lakshman. Lakshman’s fearless and witty retorts captivated the audience, while Lord Ram attempted to defuse the situation with humility and restraint. This episode conveyed a powerful message to the audience regarding the dignity (*maryada*), art of dialogue, and patience embodied in the Ramayana. Subhash Goyal, the committee’s General Secretary, stated that numerous dignitaries, including Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, attended the event to witness the performance. He emphasized the committee’s commitment to conveying the ideals of Lord Shri Ram, Indian culture, and the teachings of the Ramayana to the younger generation through modern technology and grand presentations.

A Grand Performance Conveying a Message of Faith

The Ramlila at the Red Fort grounds has once again emerged as a major hub of devotion and cultural tradition. From the breaking of the Shiva *Dhanush* (bow) to the dialogue between Parashuram and Lakshman, every scene connected the audience to the glorious saga of the Ramayana. The message of the event was clear: true victory in life is achieved only by walking the path of *Maryada* (righteous conduct), humility, and *Dharma* (righteousness).
