The crime branch of Delhi Police arrested a man for allegedly selling firecrackers without permission in the Samaypur Badli area of north Delhi. Police seized around 192 kg of firecrackers from his warehouse.
Police Action Based on a Secret Tip
The arrest came after the police received information that a man was storing banned firecrackers for sale. Acting on this, the accused was found near Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. “A raid was carried out, and one Pawan Kumar was caught with the illegal firecrackers,” said DCP (Crime) Pankaj Kumar.
Case Filed Under Relevant Laws
A case has been registered at the crime branch police station under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Explosive Act. During questioning, Pawan Kumar told the police that he had been working in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar since the Covid-19 lockdown and had recently rented a warehouse to keep and sell firecrackers.
