A woman and her young son died after falling from a high-rise building in Noida Extension on Saturday morning. Police said the two fell from the 13th floor of Ace City Society, located in the Bisrakh police station area. The incident happened around 10 am. The victims were identified as 37-year-old Sakshi Chawla, wife of Darpan Chawla, and their 11-year-old son, Daksh Chawla. Both lived in Ace City, Greater Noida West, Gautam Buddh Nagar. According to police, they died from injuries caused by the fall.
Child’s Long Illness and Mother’s Strain
Police reached the spot soon after the incident, registered the deaths and sent the bodies for post-mortem. Initial findings showed the boy had been suffering from a serious mental health problem for many years. His mother had been getting him treated for about a decade, officials said.
Note Left at the Scene
A handwritten note was also found at the location. In it, Sakshi Chawla apologised to her husband and said they were ending their lives, asking that no one be blamed, according to police. Her husband, a chartered accountant based in Gurugram, was in another room at the time. He told officers that around 9 am he had asked his wife to give their son his medicine before he went back to his room. Soon after, the tragedy occurred. Local residents gathered after the fall, and police sealed off the area to complete necessary formalities. The case is still being investigated, and officers are looking into the reasons behind the incident.
