Vrindavan: The mystery surrounding the death of Rasik Dulari Sharan (alias Deepak Lodhi, 25)—a disciple of Saint Premanand Maharaj—has deepened following the release of the post-mortem report. The report identifies the cause of death as excessive blood loss (hemorrhagic shock). Multiple severe injuries were found on the body, extending from the head down to the chest and legs. Additionally, the report reveals the detachment of a private part. The police are now working to determine the cause of these injuries and piece together the sequence of events through a forensic investigation.
During the post-mortem, Deepak’s body was found to be severed into two parts. A hematoma and a hairline fracture were discovered in the occipital region (the back of the head). There was a head wound requiring approximately 14 stitches. Lacerations requiring stitches were also found on the chin and lips. Fractures were detected on the left side of the chest, affecting the fifth through eighth ribs; the left lung was found to be damaged and filled with accumulated blood. A wound approximately five centimeters long, accompanied by an underlying bone fracture, was also found on the leg.
According to the police, Deepak fell from the fourth floor of the Guru Kripa Kunj apartment complex at approximately 10:36 AM on September 25. CCTV footage examined during the investigation shows him exiting his room at around 10:25 AM wearing blood-stained clothes. Following the discovery of a blood-stained grinder in the room and the severe injury to his private part, the police have taken the matter seriously and initiated an investigation covering multiple angles.
Prima facie, the police are investigating the case as a suicide. However, following a complaint lodged by the family, other potential aspects of the incident have also been included in the investigation. According to Vrindavan Circle Officer (CO) Sandeep Kumar, evidence—including items found in the room, CCTV footage, and mobile phones—is being examined. The DVR and mobile phones have been sent for forensic analysis.
Police officials state that the circumstances under which the injuries were sustained and their connection to the sequence of events will only become clear after the detailed forensic report is received. Deepak’s last rites were performed in Vrindavan. The police investigation into the matter is ongoing.
