New Delhi: After the departure of monsoon from North India, a change is being seen in the weather. After the rainy season stopped in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, a drop in morning and evening temperatures has started. The minimum temperature in the capital, Delhi, has reached around 18 degrees Celsius, while the day temperature has also started hovering around 30 degrees. In such a situation, people are gradually starting to feel the pink cold. At the same time, there is a possibility of change in weather in hilly states and continuation of rain activities in South India.
How will the weather be in Delhi today?
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in Delhi on October 19 is expected to be between 18 and 20 degrees and the maximum temperature is expected to be between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius. According to the data of the Safdarjung Meteorological Center, on October 18, the maximum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 31.7 degrees and the minimum temperature was 18.6 degrees Celsius. Light cold may be felt in the morning and evening in the coming days. However, due to sunlight during the day, the effect of heat may persist.
When will the cold increase in UP-Bihar and Rajasthan?
After the departure of monsoon, the weather is gradually changing in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. As the rainy season has stopped, fluctuations in temperature are being seen. The weather has started to remain relatively cool in the morning and night, while heat can be felt in the afternoon.
The effect of cold may increase if the temperature drops further in the last days of October. However, when the harsh winter will start will depend on the weather and temperature trends of the coming days.
How will the weather be in the mountains?
The weather patterns in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir may be different from the plains. There is a possibility of increase in cold due to falling temperature in high altitude areas. Tourists are heading to Shimla, Manali, Kufri, Lahaul-Spiti, Gulmarg and other hill stations.
However, it is important to confirm snowfall conditions and weather warnings for tourists in these areas with the latest bulletin from the local weather department.
Will there be less winter in Delhi-NCR this time?
Temperatures during winter can be affected by many weather factors, including El Nino. Under some circumstances, temperatures in the plains of North India may remain above normal. However, on the basis of this, it cannot be said with certainty that this time there will be less winter or fewer cold wave days.
Air pollution can also become a matter of concern during winter in Delhi-NCR. Pollution levels may increase if wind speed decreases and the spread of pollutants is hindered. In such a situation, it will be necessary to keep an eye on the weather as well as the air quality.
Where can heavy rain occur in South India?
While the weather has started becoming dry in North India, rain activities may increase in some parts of South India due to the Northeast Monsoon. Chances of rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh and some areas of Karnataka will depend on the weather systems.
The effect of rain can also be seen in Kerala and coastal Karnataka. In such a situation, people travelling to South India should plan their travel only after taking information about the latest forecast and local warnings from the Meteorological Department.
