New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Police have achieved great success by busting a large network of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Five accused have been arrested in this action, including Pakistani terrorist commander Abu Huraira. It is being told that he was under the surveillance of security agencies for a long time and was absconding for about 16 years.
Did the big arrest from Punjab reveal the secrets of the network?
Investigation has revealed that Abu Huraira, the important face of this entire network, was caught from Malerkotla in Punjab. It is being told that he was hiding his identity for years and kept avoiding the attention of security agencies. Along with him, one of his associates was also detained, due to which the layers of the entire module began to unravel.
Is the matter related to the infiltration of 16 years ago?
According to sources, Abu Huraira had infiltrated into India around 2010 and remained active in the Kashmir Valley for many years. Later he disappeared and started living in other states hiding his identity. This strategy was the reason why he was not caught for a long time.
Did this network help in the movement of terrorists?
Investigating agencies say that this module was not just a terrorist group but was working like a support system. This network helped in receiving the terrorists coming from Pakistan, providing them safe haven and helping them reach Jammu and Kashmir. It is being told that till now this network has played a role in the movement of many terrorists.
Were raids conducted simultaneously in several states?
Under this entire operation, simultaneous raids were conducted in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Special Operations Group (SOG) of police and central agencies jointly took this action. Suspicious materials and documents have also been recovered from many places.
Were local helpers also involved?
Police have also arrested three local people, who are said to be residents of Srinagar. They are accused of providing shelter, food and other necessary help to the terrorists. This makes it clear that support was present in the network even at the local level.
Could there be more arrests?
The investigating agencies are now investigating the ‘forward and backward links’ of this network. Officials believe that this is just the beginning and there may be more revelations in this case in the coming days. Besides, it is also being investigated whether this network helped send the terrorists out through fake documents.
