Punjab Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Sanjeev Arora, Dr. Balbir Singh, Lal Chand, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Harjot Singh Bains, Harbhajan Singh, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Dr. Ravjot Singh, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, and Mohinder Bhagat extended their heartfelt greetings to all citizens, especially Punjabis, on the happy occasions of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas. In a joint message released here, the Ministers said that Diwali is a festival that celebrates the triumph of truth over falsehood, good over evil, and light over darkness. It reflects India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage and teaches the values of goodness and harmony.
Celebrate a Green and Safe Diwali
The Ministers urged everyone to enjoy a clean and green Diwali, highlighting that protecting the environment is everyone’s duty. They reminded people that pollution is a serious problem and requested that citizens limit the use of firecrackers and follow eco-friendly ways to celebrate the festival.
Wishes for Health, Peace, and Unity
The Ministers prayed for the health and happiness of all people in Punjab and hoped that the festival would strengthen peace, brotherhood, communal harmony, and secular values in society. They also specially wished the Sikh community on Bandi Chhor Diwas, a historic day in 1612 when the sixth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, freed 52 Hindu kings from Gwalior Fort, symbolizing justice, freedom, and compassion.
