Rahul Gandhi’s Rare Handshake With BJP Leader In Parliament Sparks Buzz, Seen As Political Surprise

National News: An interesting scene was seen in the Parliament House on Wednesday when Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi met BJP MP and former Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy and congratulated him on his victory. This meeting took place at a time when the opposition was registering protest in the House over the voter list and special revision of Bihar.

As soon as Rahul Gandhi met Rudy, he shook hands warmly and drew everyone’s attention by calling this occasion an “uncommon handshake”. Later, while talking to the media, he jokingly said, “An uncommon handshake between Congress and BJP. By the way, congratulations.” To this, Rudy smiled and replied, “Thanks.”

Rudy’s Big Win

In the recently held elections, Rajiv Pratap Rudy registered a spectacular victory for the post of Secretary (Administration) of the Constitution Club of India. The special thing was that this contest was BJP vs BJP, in which Rudy defeated his own party leader and Union Minister Sanjeev Baliyan. The elections are being counted among the most interesting and high-voltage contests in the history of the club.

Supporting the opposition

According to media reports, Rudy received special support from opposition MPs in this victory, which further strengthened his victory. However, both Rudy and Baliyan refused to link this election with party politics and called it an internal democratic process.

Participation of senior leaders

There was a huge turnout in this election. Out of the total 1,295 members of the club, 707 cast their votes. Many big leaders were included in this. Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and many Union Ministers and opposition leaders also came for voting.

Political uproar amid results

Rudy’s victory and Rahul Gandhi’s unique congratulatory message became the center of discussions in the Parliament. It was considered a spontaneous moment away from the bitter politics inside the Parliament, which gave the message that even amidst political differences, there is always scope for personal relations and mutual harmony.
