Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has made a major remark. He stated that the nation’s youth, students, and Gen-Z will uphold the Constitution, safeguard democracy, and stop vote theft. “I always stand with them,” he added. This comment is expected to trigger reactions from opposition parties, as the role of Gen-Z in neighboring Nepal is well known. There, a Gen-Z-led movement—initially against a social media ban—turned into the first such uprising in history. The protest later grew violent, causing more than 34 deaths and injuring thousands.
Attacks on Vote Theft
In fact, these days Rahul Gandhi has been continuously attacking the issue of vote theft. On September 18th, he held a press conference and leveled serious allegations against the Election Commission. The Congress MP alleged that the Election Commission is deleting people’s votes and using fake mobile numbers to do so. Rahul also claimed that the Election Commission itself is now providing this information.
ECI’s response to Rahul’s allegations
The Election Commission has rejected Rahul Gandhi’s allegations. The Commission stated that all the allegations made by him are false and baseless. No vote cast online by any individual citizen can be deleted. Rahul Gandhi has created a false impression.
