A number of activities are planned for travellers at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport on September 17 to celebrate ‘Yatri Seva Diwas,’ an official said on Tuesday. Travellers will be greeted with roses and enjoy traditional dance performances by Jharkhand artists during the event.

Welcome And Cultural Events

“Following the instructions of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Birsa Munda Airport will hold several programmes for ‘Yatri Seva Diwas’ on Wednesday,” Airport Director R. R. Maurya said. “Passengers will be welcomed with rose buds and a ‘tilak’ on their foreheads. Folk dances will also be staged. These activities will begin at 9 am,” he added. About 25 saplings will be planted as a way to spread awareness about protecting the environment.

“A blood donation drive will start around 10:30 am, where airport employees and volunteers will donate blood. A free health check-up camp will also be set up,” Maurya said. In addition, an airport familiarisation programme and a session on job opportunities in civil aviation will be held for students. A quiz and painting competition will also be arranged for them.
