
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s upcoming film that is based on the Galwan Valley conflict, ‘Battle of Galwan’ has been renamed to ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’. The makers, Salman Khan Films, on Monday unveiled a new poster that carries a very important message with the title.
What is the reason of change?
The development comes days after controversy over China’s reaction to the film.
Salman Khan on Monday shared the new poster of the film, with the renamed title, ‘Maatrubhumi’ and wrote on Instagram, “May War Rest In Peace. Maatrubhumi.”
Salman Khan Films also shared the same poster with the caption, “Not just the fight at the border… But the love for our Maatrubhumi.”

In the poster, Salman Khan can be seen dressed in uniform. It look like a intense scene with bloodied partial glimpse of the superstar.
Based on the 2020 clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in Galwan in eastern Ladakh, the film has been directed by Apoorva Lakhia and also stars Chitrangada Singh as the female lead alongside Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, and Vipin Bhardwaj alongside Salman Khan in the lead role.
What is Salman Khan’s role in the film?
Salman Khan will play the role of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who died while fighting troops from China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
