Asia Cup 2025 Super-4 Race: Currently, group stage matches are being played in Asia Cup 2025. Group B includes teams from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Afghanistan. Out of these, Hong Kong team has been eliminated. Whereas the remaining 3 teams are trying hard to reach Super-4. Bangladesh has made the equation of qualifying for Super-4 interesting by winning the match against Afghanistan by 8 runs. Now, which 2 teams from Group-B will reach Super-4 will depend on the match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan cricket team is at number one

The Sri Lankan team currently leads the Group B points table. They have played two matches so far, winning two of them. They have four points and a net run rate of plus 1.546. They have one remaining match, against Afghanistan on September 18th.

Afghanistan’s net run rate is in plus

Meanwhile, Afghanistan currently sits third in the Group B points table. The team has played two matches so far, winning one and losing one. With two points, their net run rate is plus 2.150. The best part about Afghanistan is that their net run rate is in the positive zone. They defeated Hong Kong by 94 runs in their first match.

Bangladesh are second in the points table and have played all three of their group stage matches. They have four points after three matches and a net run rate of minus 0.270.

Sri Lanka can still secure a place in the next round even after losing in this manner.

Now, if Afghanistan wins against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2025 match on September 18, it will easily qualify for the Super Four. On the other hand, Sri Lanka can qualify for the Super Four even if it loses. If Sri Lanka loses against Afghanistan by less than 71 runs, with 53 or fewer balls remaining, it will have the same four points as Bangladesh. However, losing by less than 71 runs, with 53 or fewer balls remaining, will result in a higher net run rate than Bangladesh.
