Muzaffarnagar: The Traffic Awareness Month campaign was launched at the Police Lines in Muzaffarnagar on Tuesday, with police officials, schoolchildren, NCC cadets and traffic volunteers participating in the programme. As part of the initiative, school students organised an awareness rally, urging people to follow traffic rules and adopt safe practices while using roads.

The month-long campaign aims to reduce road accidents and educate the public about traffic regulations. Throughout November, the police will organise various activities focusing on road safety, responsible driving and public awareness.

₹25,000 Incentive Under the Rahagir Scheme

During the programme, SSP Suraj Kumar Rai briefed the media about the government’s Rahagir Scheme. He explained that individuals who help transport seriously injured road accident victims to hospitals on time will receive an incentive of ₹25,000 from the government.

The initiative is intended to encourage people to assist accident victims without hesitation and ensure they receive timely medical attention.

Police Appeal to Public to Help Accident Victims

SSP Rai appealed to citizens to come forward whenever they encounter road accidents and help injured individuals reach the nearest hospital without unnecessary delay.

He said the primary objective of Traffic Awareness Month is to strengthen public awareness about road safety, encourage responsible behaviour on roads and ensure better compliance with traffic regulations.
