A major celebration will take place across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh on October 7, following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. As per the CM’s order, Valmiki Jayanti will be celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the state. Along with this, events such as Ramayana recitations, devotional songs, kirtans, cultural programs, and lamp lighting ceremonies will also be organized. This grand celebration will make this year’s Valmiki Jayanti special and memorable, one that people will remember for years.
CM Yogi’s Message to Officials
The Yogi government has instructed administrative officers that these events should not only take place at the government level but also with active participation from the public. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the celebration will spread the message of equality, service, and harmony in society. He has directed officials to ensure cleanliness, drinking water, proper lighting, and full security arrangements at all venues. Committees have been formed in every district under the leadership of District Magistrates. These committees will organize programs with the help of local artists, social workers, and young talents.
Lalapur (Chitrakoot) to Be the Main Venue
According to reports, Lalapur in Chitrakoot, known as the meditation site of Sage Valmiki, will be the main center of this celebration on October 7. The Department of Culture has declared it the state-level main event. R.K. Rawat, Deputy Director (Tourism), has been appointed as the nodal officer for this event. He said the program will begin at 11 a.m. with the garlanding of Maharishi Valmiki’s statue and lighting of lamps. After that, Sanskrit students and saints will present the Ramayana recitation. The day will also include worship, havan, stories of Luv and Kush, devotional music, and many other activities.
Festive Atmosphere in Other Districts Too
The celebration’s excitement will not be limited to one place but will spread across other districts of the state as well. In Ayodhya, Shravasti, Prayagraj, Kanpur (Bithoor), Rajapur, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur, grand events will be organized. In Ayodhya, a special prayer and lamp offering will take place at Valmiki Ashram, while a two-day program is being planned at the Valmiki Ashram in Bithoor. In Prayagraj and Varanasi, the literature departments of local universities will hold discussions on “Valmiki and the Cultural Impact of Ramayana.” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also given strict instructions to ensure proper cleanliness, drinking water, sound, lighting, and security arrangements at all venues. He emphasized that no devotee should face any difficulty during the celebrations. The Culture Department has been directed to spread positive social messages during the events and to make sure that Valmiki Ji’s teachings reach the common people.
